Vinay Kumar, a seasoned diplomat who earlier served as the envoy to Afghanistan, was named India’s new ambassador to Myanmar on Monday. Kumar, an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 1992 batch, is currently an additional secretary in the external affairs ministry.

Mr. Naresh Kumar Dinodiya is Managing Director of P L Global Impex Pte Ltd, Singapore and also serves as Vice President of Indian Myanmar Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar and President of Indian Association of Myanmar. The P L Global Impex Pte. Ltd., an 83-year-old group, are pioneers in Imports / Exports, Trading of Agro commodities, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG etc. They are also active market players in Manufacturing, Projects, Distribution and Service Industries. In the past, the Group has been instrumental in initiating and bringing in many new processes to Myanmar like ACU Mechanism and Barter trade etc. In fact, the Group was the pioneer to introduce and participate in Agro commodities trading in Myanmar in big way. Mr. Dinodiya leads a large management team of corporate professionals and Industry Experts and is known to nurture the strengths and talents of people and build teams committed to achieve Company’s Goals. He always put in planned efforts to bring in and launch new Indian products to Myanmar market. Mr. Dinodiya is actively involved in Corporate Social Responsibility activities and the Group, by tradition, takes environmental, philanthropic, ethical and economic social responsibilities. He has also been the pioneer in starting many sports activities in Myanmar including cricket by getting affiliation for Myanmar by International Cricket Council and ASEAN Cricket Council. He is also a face to represent the issues faced by agro business to the Ministry in Myanmar and coordinate with the Indian Government through the Indian Embassy in Myanmar. He has been awarded many accolades and has been the recipient of reputed awards in the past for his contribution to the business community and social responsibility by many Organizations and Associations. Recently he was lauded by Asia One Magazine and was bestowed with the Global Indian of the Year 2020-2021 award.

Gaurav Manghnani is a Chartered Accountant, a finance professional who has worked across countries like Russia, UAE, Myanmar. Apart from qualifying for CA, he is a certified investment professional (by NCFM) and risk management professional (by GARP). Gaurav has been in Myanmar for over 8 years and speaks Burmese language. He started off his career with Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises Pte Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company with dual role of finance and commercial operations. Presently, he is working as a CEO of Meridian Group’s Myanmar office. He is responsible for mainstream commodity trading business and investment vertical of Meridian, sourcing deals for investment arm of the company. His strong finance background coupled with commercial skills and business acumen helped him grow business of the company in South East Asia. In 2021, he was awarded as India’s top 50 finance leaders by White Page International. He is the youngest elected board member of India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce. He is passionate about growth of bilateral trade and investment between two countries and manages external communications, events and SME development at the chamber.
